We’ve been making these cool large lots of comic book badges for a few months now and since the last set sold, we thought we’d show off the latest batch. It’s a nice way to reuse old and unloved comics, now missing their covers and a bit on the musty side. It’s not a bad musty though. It’s a sweet musty smell, like the cabin on Wasaga Beach where we would spend a week or two during summer when I was a kid. I guess that’s why I love putting these sets together. I love to get lost on the sea monkey and gag ad pages the most. Oh, how we all wanted Sea Monkeys and a pair of genuine xray glasses.
This set is currently for sale in our etsy shop.
On other fronts, the garden is coming along nicely. New apple tree is in and the two we put in last year overwintered and flowered so we will have apples this summer/fall. The low cherry did well as did the strawberries in their new location. We’ve been eating the lovely mild and slim french D’avignon radishes for a few weeks…mostly in a nice thai cucumber basil pickle based on The King And I’s Yam Dang salad. The neighbourhood cats are enjoying the catnip in the memorial garden…as seen in the photo below…we think Granny would like it very much. And with that I’m off to put some sweet peas in to soak and go for a run.
